Charles A. Sippial, Sr. Vice President for Facilities Texas A&M University Email
Welcome to the Division of Facilities
Welcome to the Division of Facilities. The division is comprised of the Physical Plant Department, the Office
of Facilities Coordination, Aviation Services and the Office of the Vice President.
The Physical Plant is responsible for providing the facility and grounds maintenance, renovation,
cleaning and utilities supply for the over 750 facilities and 2,000 acres of landscape that encompass the
properties of Texas A&M University and the Texas A&M University System in College Station. The Office of
Facilities Coordination is the University’s major source for facilities data, to include space and facility
inventory, infrastructure and campus maps, as well as land use management. Easterwood Airport serves not only
the University but Bryan-College Station and the surrounding counties by providing commercial and private air
travel services.
The Vice President’s office functions in a support capacity for the departments and is the key liaison to the
System’s Facilities Planning and Construction office. The Division of Facilities carefully monitors all major
new construction and renovation projects either in construction phase or in design phase for the Texas A&M
campus to ensure compliance. The Physical Plant is responsible for all major new construction projects with a
cost of less than $1 million and renovation projects less than $2 million. This office also serves the University
as a key liaison with the surrounding cities and county as well as other local governmental entities regarding such
issues as utilities, transportation and safety.
- The Sustainability Officer serves the entire campus through education about sustainability, the promotion of
sustainable practices on and office campus and the provision of resources and support for people who wish to
incorporate sustainable practices into their work and life.
- The University Architect is responsible for the qualitative development of the campus, and for the
implementation, monitoring, and evolution of the Campus Master Plan. Further, the University Architect plays an
active role in the program, site, budget and conceptual design phase of new facilities and major renovations and
participates in architectural solicitation and selection for those projects.
